QUESTIONS
Look at the table you completed in Part 1 where you showed some of the types of waste you produce in your daily life. Compare that to the results if your waste audit.
1) Were there any kinds of kinds of waste producec that you had not thought of originally?
-I trought I would produce more organic waste than plastic waste.
-The huge amount of organic waste.
2) What were the sources of paper in you audit?
The paper waste produced was smaller than I expected.
The main sources newspaper, magazine, adverts, written papers, letters, food package cardboard, egg cartons...
3) How much of metal was aluminium and how munch was can ( plated steel). Were there other metals in the waste?
I waste metal, foil aluminium.
4) Which materials took up the most space in your waste bin? Which material weighed the most?
Organic waste took up the most space.
In Europe about three quarters of all waste is dumped to a landfill. The cost of disposing of waste in landfills sites is usually based on the volum rather than the mass of the waste. Why do you think this is so?
Volume is the more significant when measuring domestic waste.
5) How might the waste produced differ when comparing households with babies or very young children to household ehit only adults?
Yes, the children produce paper, organic waste...

HOW MUCH WASTE PRODUCE MY FAMILY AT HOME?
DESCRIPTION:
In my house there is no problem with the recycling activity because we have always recycled. My parents helped me a lot. My father took me to the ecopark of Vara de Quart to diposit an old hair dryer and some used cooking oil. My mother especially helped me in everything. We have no kitchen weight, so I calculated my weight (kg) together with the waste bags and later subtracting my own weight to the weight with each of the bags. I weighed the organic waste every day. The other fractions were calculated at the end of the week
MY OPINION:
Personally I have found this activity very interesting because we (my family and I) never thought how much waste we could produce at home and the differences existing among the houses.
